Horns ll A redesign of the treehouse from the novel-turned-film, Horns directed by Alexandre Aja. Work done for a reimagining, non-union short film.
Brood ll
Project: To design a modern commercial experience based upon a concept of choice from the script of Hamlet written by William Shakespeare
Resolution: A coffee shop that acts as Hamlet's brooding chamber where he philosophizes about morality, intellect and character. This intimate space parallels stream of consciousness of young thought, study and reminders of more historical times.
The Clockmaker's Office ll A visual redesign and new story of our classroom to the office of the building owner, circa 1906.
The Howling Man ll
A redesigned Twilight Zone episode's major interior to fit a found exterior in our local area, including a changed historical context. Local film studio had to be measured and built in 3D; set design had to be built to scale in the physical film studio space.
Episode: In 1939, an American traveler stumbles across a German castle trying to seek cover from a night storm. He enters and discovers a robed, religious brotherhood which inform him that the prisoner he sees is the Devil and that he must leave him alone. The traveler, of course, frees the prisoner. The freed Satan works his will to cause the second World War.
Redesign: In 1340, a European traveler stumbles across an abandoned, hidden English castle trying to seek cover from a night storm. He enters and discovers a small remaining group of soldiers of Christianity, the Knights Templar, which inform him that the prisoner he sees is the Devil and that he must leave him alone. The traveler, of course, frees the prisoner. The freed Satan works his will to cause the bubonic plague, or the Black Death.
